Meaning

When the mind follows the roaming senses, it carries away one’s wisdom, as the wind carries away a ship on the waters. Even one unchecked sense, followed by the mind, can be enough to lose direction.

For children

Krishna says: “If your mind runs after everything you see, it gets blown about, like a little boat in a strong wind.”

Kṛṣṇa explains, with the image of a boat in the wind, why the unsteady mind of 2.66 loses its wisdom.
