Meaning

Having spoken thus to Hṛṣīkeśa, Guḍākeśa, the scorcher of foes, said to Govinda, “I will not fight,” and became silent. Arjuna’s silence marks the end of his own arguments; the next words will be Kṛṣṇa’s.

For children

Arjuna told Krishna, “I will not fight,” and then he stopped talking and sat very quietly.

Sañjaya, the narrator, sums up: Arjuna has refused to fight and waits silently for Kṛṣṇa.
